Google signed an agreement with Meta for cloud computing services that exceeded $10 billion, according to a Reuters source.

Meta will utilize servers, storage, network, and other services from Google Cloud as per the agreement, stated an undisclosed source due to the confidential nature of the discussions.

Google and Meta did not promptly reply to requests for comments.

The announcement follows Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s remarks in July about the company’s plan to invest hundreds of billions of dollars in constructing multiple artificial intelligence data centers.

The company increased its yearly capital spending prediction from $2 billion to a range of $66 billion to $72 billion last month.

Seeking financial backers for a goal

Meta is seeking external partners to assist in funding the extensive infrastructure required for AI by selling $2 billion worth of data center assets, as stated in a document released by the company this month.

OpenAI planned to utilize Google Cloud service to address its increasing computing demands, as per a June report by Reuters. This unexpected partnership involved two major rivals in the field of artificial intelligence.
