iFood and the Mottu motorcycle rental platform have joined forces to make it easier for delivery drivers to rent motorcycles across Brazil, helping both companies grow faster.
Deliverers will receive easier access to affordable bicycles through the partnership, with a discount of up to 20% on the deposit and special terms for starting or renewing contracts starting in September.
Deliverers who work on both platforms may earn up to an additional $350 per month, depending on the number of deliveries they handle.
Thiago Viana, iFood’s senior innovation director, stated that the project aims to speed up the growth of the delivery network and lower expenses related to retaining customers.
iFood had around 310,000 delivery drivers in Brazil a year ago, but now the number has increased to about 450,000, making it crucial for the company to expand this workforce, according to Viana.
Mottu’s size has nearly doubled in one year. Around a year ago, the company had approximately 70,000 rented bikes in the country, and now it has about 130,000 bikes.
The company aims to achieve a total of 1 million bicycles in the future, as stated by Trajano Rocha, the company’s financial director.
