The Aneel directorate recommended renewing Enel Rio de Janeiro’s energy distribution contract for an additional 30 years to the federal government on Tuesday.
The dealer asked for the current contract, which ends in December 2026, to be extended sooner.
The Ministry of Mines and Energy makes the ultimate decision.
Vote in opposition
Aneel’s proposal was approved by most voters, as there was a disagreement with director Fernando Mosna, who, after a thorough evaluation of Enel RJ’s services, believes that the company does not meet the requirements for contract extension.
Mosna mentioned that Enel RJ’s performances in consumer satisfaction index and delayed works are below the national average, along with poor quality indicators for services like continuity and frequency of energy interruptions.
