Cargill Bioenergy plans to construct a corn ethanol facility at its sugarcane plant in Golden Waterfall (GO), as announced by the company’s management on Friday.
The business model in Quirinópolis (GO) will be replicated as the biofuel division of Cargill in Brazil currently produces ethanol from sugarcane and corn.
Cargill’s project in Golden Waterfall was initially reported by AgFeed’s specialized portal. The company verified the report but did not provide specific project details.
Cargill acquired 50% ownership of SJC Bioenergy in Brazil, gaining control of all agroindustrial facilities in Quirinópolis and Cachoeira Dourada.
The president of the Brazilian branch of the multinational agribusiness company, Cargill, stated in April to Reuters that the pursuit of efficiency is a key reason for the company’s decision to increase its involvement in biofuels in Brazil.
