Passengers who paid extra to sit in window seats on Delta Air Lines and United Airlines were seated near the wall instead.

The collective lawsuits were initiated against United in the federal court of San Francisco and against Delta in the Brooklyn federal court in New York, aiming to secure millions of dollars in restitution for over 1 million passengers of each airline.

No windows present

Some passengers report that certain Boeing 737, Boeing 757, and Airbus A321 planes have seats without windows because of the positioning of air conditioning ducts, electrical conduits, or other elements.

Delta and United airlines failed to inform customers that these seats had no windows when booking.

The document against United claims that if the people organizing the event had known the seats they were purchasing had no windows, they would not have selected them or paid extra for them. The complaint against Delta used similar wording.

Delta is based in Atlanta and United is located in Chicago, both in the United States. Neither airline immediately responded to requests for comments.
